  • Arts & Culture Award

This award is presented to an immigrant who has achieved success in an artistic endeavor, within the visual, media or performing arts fields.

  •  Community Service Award

This award is presented to an immigrant who has provided outstanding community service to the city of Calgary and immigrant communities in a volunteer capacity.

  •  Business Award

This award is presented to an immigrant who has achieved success in the creation of or operation of a business or entrepreneurial endeavor in Calgary or surrounding areas.

  •  Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is presented to an immigrant who has achieved outstanding success in their chosen career path or professional field. This individual will have made significant contributions to our city in the areas of professional achievement, community building and philanthropic endeavors.

  •  Achievement Under 40 Award

This award is presented to an immigrant under 40 years of age who has had remarkable success and made significant achievements in their chosen career path in a relatively short period of time. Overcoming significant obstacles, they have demonstrated perseverance and dedication.

  •  Hadassah Ksienski Distinguished Service Award

This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated leadership, innovation, dedication and a spirit of compassion in the areas of immigrant services, program development, administration and/or advocacy. This person will have made important contributions to enhancing the lives of immigrants in Canada at the local, provincial and/or national levels through his/her actions in professional, volunteer and/or academic capacities.

  •  Organizational Diversity Award

This award is presented to a business, government or non-profit organization or media outlet that is leading the field in implementing diversity initiatives in the workplace. The winning company will be a shining example of true labor market integration and will have made significant contributions in serving ethnically diverse client groups.

  • Youth Scholarship Awards

Youth Scholarships are awarded to immigrant youths between the ages of 14 and 24 who have made an outstanding contribution or significant achievement in one or more of the following areas: arts & culture, sports, community & volunteer activities, academics and leadership.

 Note: Past recipients of an Immigrant of Distinction Award cannot be nominated in the same award category. Past recipients are only eligible to be nominated in a different category than the award previously received.However past nominees who did not receive an award are eligible to be nominated for the same award or in any other category.
